Job summary

Avalara is seeking a Sr. Learning Program Designer to lead the design, development, and implementation of broad learning programs for New Business Sales teams. You will set the overarching framework and strategy, enabling instructional designers to build courses aligned with measurable outcomes and business goals.

The role emphasizes outcome-based design, program ownership, and collaboration with SMEs and leaders to drive measurable results in a remote work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, Education, Business or a related field.
• Master’s degree or certifications in instructional design, learning & development, or project management preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in curriculum program development, education, instructional design, or learning & development.
• Proven experience designing and managing large-scale learning programs.
• Strong familiarity with outcome-based instructional design approaches, such as backwards design.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage the structure of large-scale training programs (NEO and beyond) ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and desired outcomes.
• Collaborate with instructional designers to provide program frameworks and guidance for course development.
• Coordinate development timelines, deliverables, and resources across the team.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across all program components.
• Develop evaluation strategies to assess program effectiveness and impact, leveraging data and feedback to improve.
