Job summary

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, LLC is seeking an Endocrinology & Chemistry Supervisor to provide technical, operational, and regulatory oversight of the Endocrinology and Chemistry testing sections, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant results.

You will supervise bench staff, manage QC, supervision of assay validations, and drive continuous quality improvements while upholding CLIA, CAP, NYSDOH, and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related science.
• At least 6 years of laboratory experience.
• In-depth expertise in clinical chemistry and endocrinology methodologies.
• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and NYSDOH regulatory standards.
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and automated middleware systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capability with team engagement and quality work habits.

Responsibilities

• Perform, verify, and release high-complexity testing in Endocrinology and Chemistry per SOPs.
• Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of analyzers and platforms.
• Monitor QC, Levey-Jennings, and Westgard rules; implement corrective actions.
• Lead assay validations and method comparisons prior to clinical use.
• Investigate failures and non-conformances; perform root-cause analyses.
• Oversee proficiency testing and corrective actions for unacceptable results.
• Provide daily supervision to bench technicians and ensure workload balance.
• Train, mentor, onboard staff; ensure competency assessments.
• Ensure readiness for CLIA/CAP inspections and maintain audit-ready records.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and safety guidelines.
