Job summary

MD Anderson Cancer Center's CORE Chemistry Laboratory seeks a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to lead daily operations, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and guide staff development. This role blends technical leadership with people management to improve processes and patient care.

You will supervise testing, oversee SOPs, validations, LIS/EMR integrations, and maintain inspection readiness while fostering a collaborative, compliant laboratory culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related science field or Molecular Genetic Technology.
• NAACLS accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/Molecular Genetic Technology program completion.
• Master's or Doctorate preferred in related science field.
• ASCP/CHS/CHT/MDT/MT certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily clinical laboratory activities and oversee policies and SOPs.
• Lead evaluation and validation of new methodologies, tests, and instrumentation.
• Assist with LIS and EMR implementation and testing; recommend modifications.
• Perform clinical lab assays as needed to support patient care; ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain inventory control and documentation to support CAP/CLIA requirements.
