Job summary

Stearns County seeks a capable leader to oversee a Human Services unit within Adult & Disability Services. You will supervise case managers, ensure quality client services, and coordinate community resources to improve life outcomes.

Office-based role in Minnesota with responsibilities spanning program leadership, reporting, budgeting, and collaboration with state resources. Strong communication and coaching abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, sociology, psychology or related field with five years of progressively related experience, OR Master’s degree with one year related experience.
• Knowledge of department programs, operations, policies, and procedures; best practices in public sector personnel management and client services.
• Ability to develop strategies for continuous quality improvement; coach staff and lead teams; assess training needs and implement programs.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize work, manage multiple locations, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and prioritize unit activities, workflow, and referrals.
• Oversee housing outreach services and coordinate with partners to meet housing needs.
• Develop client service plans, grant applications, and contractual reports to improve performance.
• Assist staff in assessing client needs and referrals to resources.
• Monitor client services quality through file reviews and audits; ensure accurate, timely work.
