Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to head the LSI team supporting the DoD DIFC2 program. You will oversee the design, integration, and testing of sophisticated C2 and Weapons systems, coordinating across stakeholders and government customers in a high-security environment.

You will guide lifecycle activities from requirements through sustainment, lead design reviews, and apply MBSE/SysML in a large Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance or TS/SCI eligible.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• At least 10 years of hands-on systems engineering experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven capability in designing and delivering complex systems for classified/national security apps.
• Experience applying System Engineering V in large Agile programs (ACAT 1, II, III).
• Experience with full SDLC including requirements derivation, system design, and verification/validation testing.
• Expertise in architectures, MBSE modeling, and system-of-systems integration.
• Proficiency with engineering tools (DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB, SysML).
• Strong cybersecurity knowledge and RMF compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead LSI technical design, integration, and testing aligned with mission requirements.
• Mentor multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver C2 and Weapons systems solutions.
• Oversee lifecycle from requirements to sustainment.
• Perform trade studies and risk assessments for decision-making.
• Collaborate with Chief Engineer, PM, stakeholders to define objectives.
• Ensure compliance with engineering processes and security requirements (RMF).
• Produce design artifacts, interface control documents, and test plans.
• Serve as primary technical POC for government customers and vendors.
• Experience with Agile is required.
• Lead design reviews (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR).
• Model with DoDAF, SysML, UML; manage performance requirements.
• Mitigate program risks with innovative engineering solutions.
