Job summary

Contact Government Services (CGS) seeks a Senior Lead Network Engineer to lead a large-scale wired and wireless network project. You will evaluate existing networks, design a unified infrastructure, and drive testing, security patches, and QA.

You will interact with state/local government personnel, stakeholders, and vendors to implement solutions. The role emphasizes documentation, architecture guidance, and training, with a Monday–Friday on-site schedule and a strong focus on network security

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Strong documentation skills including Jira, Wiki Pages, and diagrams.
CWNA or equivalent certification.
BCNE or equivalent certification.
Experience with RF site survey tools like Ekahau, RF Scanners, and Wireshark.
Knowledge of VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP, and security protocols.
Linux/Windows/VMware knowledge and disaster recovery experience.

Responsibilities

Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting with network management software.
Develop and deliver network infrastructure documentation.
Review and recommend architecture, design, and operations best practices.
Oversee wireless onboarding, health monitoring, patches, and updates (Mon-Fri 0800-1700 PST).
Assess infrastructure and propose improvements and optimization.
Define testing procedures for new projects.
Implement network solutions within NPS projects.
Provide design guidance and knowledge transfer to NPS resources.
