Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks a Senior Lead Network Engineer to join a team responsible for evaluating, enhancing, and maintaining a large-scale wired and wireless network infrastructure for government projects. This role interfaces with state/local personnel, stakeholders, and vendors to design and implement the new setup.

The incumbent will oversee testing, vulnerability assessments, and QA, while guiding architecture and providing training on best practices to NPS resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to document network designs, issues, and resolutions.
• Strong communication with end users and cross-organizational staff.
• CWNA Certification or equivalent
• BCNE Certification or equivalent
• Experience with RF site survey tools (Ekahau, RF Scanners, Wireshark).
• Knowledge of VLANs, OSPF, VRRP, 802.1x, ACLs, RADIUS, CA; network security.
• Linux, VMware, Windows Server environments familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage network infrastructure.
• Improve monitoring and reporting with network management software.
• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation.
• Review practices; advise on architecture and operations.
• Onboard wireless infrastructure; monitor health; apply patches.
• Assess and optimize network infrastructure.
• Define testing procedures for new projects.
• Implement solutions within the network environment.
• Provide design guidance for network projects.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to NPS resources.
