Job summary

Contact Government Services (CGS) seeks a Senior Lead Network Engineer II to design, implement, and support a large-scale NPS network infrastructure. You will interface with government personnel, stakeholders, and vendors to evaluate current networks and drive secure, scalable solutions.

The role requires leadership, strong documentation, and hands-on experience with RF tools, networking protocols, and security. Hybrid/remote options and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
• Strong documentation skills updating JIRA Tickets, Wiki Pages and Network Diagrams.
• Ability to communicate with end users and cross-organizational staff.
• CWNA Certification or equivalent.
• BCNE Certification or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools such as Ekahau and RF Scanners; Wireshark.
• Knowledge of layer 2 switching, layer 3 routing (VLANs, OSPF, VRRP).
• Security knowledge: 802.1x, MAC Authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, CA.
• Linux, MS Server 2013, VMware, etc.
• Master’s Degree in related field.
• At least 3 years in disaster recovery planning / testing.
• Experience with penetration testing, vulnerability assessment and cyber threat analysis.
• Agile/Scrum project management experience.
• Additional industry certifications/licenses.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting capabilities with network management software.
• Develop, maintain and deliver network infrastructure documentation within NPS.
• Review best practices; provide architecture, design, management and operation recommendations.
• Administer Cloudpath onboarding; monitor wireless health; apply patches and updates (08:00–17:00 PST, Mon-Fri).
• Assess NPS network; recommend improvements and optimization.
• Define and conduct testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.
• Implement technology solutions within NPS network environment.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions in NPS projects.
• Provide informal training and knowledge transfer on best practices and operation theory.
