Job summary

CGS is seeking a Senior Lead Network Engineer to join a team responsible for large-scale wired and wireless network infrastructure in government projects. The role covers design, evaluation, implementation, testing, and maintenance with cross-agency collaboration.

The position requires monitoring, security patching, documentation, and training delivery to NPS resources. Hybrid/remote work options are available, with Tampa and Miami locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, Business, IS or related discipline.
• Strong documentation skills including updating JIRA and Wiki pages.
• Ability to communicate with end users and cross-organizational staff.
• CWNA Certification or equivalent.
• BCNE Certification or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools (Ekahau, RF Scanners, Wireshark).
• Knowledge of 2–3 layer switching & routing protocols (VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP).
• Knowledge of network security (802.1x, RADIUS, ACLs, CA).
• Experience with Linux, Windows Server, VMware.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting with network management software.
• Develop and maintain network documentation for NPS.
• Review best practices; provide architecture and design recommendations.
• Onboard, monitor, and patch wireless network health; apply security updates.
• Assess and optimize the NPS network infrastructure.
