Job summary

CGS is seeking a Senior Lead Network Engineer to join a team maintaining a large-scale government network with wired and wireless infrastructure. You will design, deploy, and secure the network, coordinate with state/local personnel, and guide testing, documentation, and vendor interactions.

Requirements include CWNA/BCNE certifications, RF survey experience, Linux/VMware, and disaster recovery planning. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to update Jira, Wiki pages, and diagrams.
• CWNA and BCNE certifications or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools like Ekahau and Wireshark.
• Knowledge of layer 2 switching, layer 3 routing, and security protocols.
• Experience with Linux, Windows Server, VMware, and disaster recovery planning.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting with network management software.
• Develop and deliver infrastructure documentation for the network.
• Review best practices and provide architecture and design recommendations.
• Onboarding and troubleshooting wireless networks, patching, and updates.
• Assess and optimize the NPS network infrastructure.
• Define testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.
• Implement technology solutions within the NPS network.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions for NPS projects.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer on best practices.
