Job summary

Hunt Electric (Minnesota) seeks a Limited Energy Lead Estimator to lead our Centralized Estimating Department, ensuring the team produces detailed conceptual estimates from schematic through construction documents and specs.

The role receives, evaluates and assigns bid opportunities and guides estimate reviews, collaborating with the Estimating and Internal Business Development Manager to develop staff, training, and schedules while building strong subcontractor relationships.

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma required; two-year degree preferred in electrical construction/engineering.
10+ years in commercial construction estimating preferred, with leadership experience.
Strong proficiency with estimating software and MS Office; familiarity with plan rooms and databases.
Ability to develop scopes, bid leveling documents, and analyze risk/reward on projects.
Proven ability to lead teams and build strong relationships with subs/suppliers.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Centralized Estimating Department and lead bid opportunities.
Perform/review conceptual estimates and line-item take-offs from drawings and specs.
Coordinate with Sales and Business Development to support proposals and timing.
Develop training programs and mentor estimating staff; determine salaries and bonuses.
Build subcontractor and supplier relationships and manage bid day procedures.
