Job summary

Kokosing, a leading general contractor, is seeking a Lead Project Engineer for heavy highway and bridge projects in the Western PA/Morgantown area. The role involves planning, leading on-site construction engineering activities, and coordinating teams to meet schedule targets.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering or Construction Management background with 5+ years of experience, bridge exposure, and PE registration is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of construction engineering experience.
• Bridge experience is a strong plus.
• Professional Engineer registration preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for Heavy Highway/bridge projects.
• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule (Primavera P6).
• Develop, implement and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents (submittals, RFIs, expediting material deliveries, payment of Subcontractors/Vendors and Owner pay requests).
• Represent company, project and/or department during A/E, client and project management meetings.
• Interface all on-site departments to resolve problems and ensure quality of construction.
• Oversee all pre-construction services, design-build services, and business development for the project.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
