Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Test and Validation to provide technical leadership in the validation and characterization of complex, high-performance hardware platforms. This role focuses on signal integrity, high-speed interface validation, power delivery and system-level hardware validation.

The successful candidate will lead test strategies, lab investigations, and cross-functional collaboration across hardware design, firmware, manufacturing and customer teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline; Master's preferred.
• Typically 8+ years of hardware design, validation, signal integrity, or electrical characterization experience with leadership.
• Strong understanding of high-speed digital design and signal integrity fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience validating PCIe and Ethernet high-speed interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of hardware validation and characterization plans for complex compute, networking, storage, and high-speed platforms.
• Define test strategies, methodologies, coverage, acceptance criteria, and validation procedures from specs.
• Perform SI validation of high-speed interfaces including eye diagrams, jitter, timing margins, and channel performance.
• Validate PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes and other high-speed interconnect technologies across generations.
• Perform PCIe electrical validation including transmitter/receiver characterization and link-margin analysis.
• Conduct power integrity and power delivery testing including regulation, ripple, transient response, and sequencing.
• Develop repeatable test setups and automation to improve validation coverage and efficiency.
• Debug complex hardware issues spanning PCB design, interfaces, power rails, firmware, and system interactions.
• Root-cause analysis and cross-functional collaboration to drive corrective actions.
• Review schematics, layouts, and documentation to identify validation risks and requirements.
• Correlate lab measurements with SI/PI simulations and communicate results through reports and reviews.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to validation engineers and technicians.
