Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design in Austin, TX to drive the design and development of high-performance hardware. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into robust schematics, layouts, and test plans.

Responsibilities include researching system ideas, evaluating trade-offs, and providing technical leadership for high-speed interfaces such as DDRx, PCIe, Ethernet, and SERDES.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, and implement technical electrical engineering solutions for complex hardware projects.
• Review customer requirements and translate into electrical design specifications.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces such as DDRx, PCIe, Ethernet, and SERDES.
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing technologies including HDI and sequential lamination.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; familiarity with IPC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Work on the design, development, and implementation of technical electrical engineering solutions for complex hardware projects.
• Research system ideas, analyze engineering trade-offs, and recommend electrical modifications to ensure all designs meet rigorous performance standards.
• Provide technical engineering direction for high-speed hardware design and architecture.
• Review, interpret, and negotiate customer technical requirements and specifications as the primary engineering contact.
• Design, modify, and implement electrical systems that meet customer and Celestica requirements.
• Create detailed schematics, bills of materials, diagrams, and physical board drawings.
• Ensure all designs and processes comply with relevant industry regulations, EMC and EMI layout requirements, and internal standards.
• Analyze and interpret complex electrical data and information to create comprehensive engineering reports.
• Advanced technical experience with GPU servers and Broadcom chip applications is preferred.
• Occasional travel may be required.
