Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Phoenix, AZ seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead a multi-discipline group on nuclear power plant projects. You will guide design teams through all phases, define scope, and ensure deliverables meet technical, quality, and budget requirements.

The role emphasizes leadership, client liaison, and the use of modern tools to improve reliability and efficiency, with a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence three days per week.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSEE degree required.
• 10+ years of experience designing electrical systems for nuclear power plants.
• 3+ years leading an engineering design group through all project phases.
• Experience selecting equipment, materials and preparing design change packages.
• Experience as firm/client liaison in a lead role.
• Experience with electrical systems including LV/MV distribution, transformers, generators, motors and relays.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient in MS Office.
• PE licensure is preferred; ability to obtain nuclear site access badge.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to complete electrical engineering deliverables meeting technical, quality, financial and project controls expectations.
• Define deliverables and scope of work; initiate and convey scope to group members.
• Review status, track progress and keep the client informed; conduct routine status meetings and submit progress reports.
• Coordinate multi-discipline interfaces and oversee detailed design phases; develop project scope, costs and schedules.
• Provide technical oversight, including design change packages and vendor bid evaluation.
• Interface with the client to validate scope and ensure satisfaction; mentor and develop the group.
• Prepare and coordinate multi-discipline proposals and identify opportunities with existing clients.
