Job summary

Stryker in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Lead, Data Engineering to guide architecture and shape enterprise data solutions. You will drive complex data initiatives, mentor engineers, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data products for procurement analytics.

You will lead modernization efforts across Azure-based platforms, advance data governance, and champion best practices while translating business needs into repeatable engineering solutions that deliver measurable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as CS, data engineering, or math.
• 6+ years of data engineering, analytics engineering, or enterprise data platform experience.
• Proven experience designing and modernizing cloud-based data platforms for enterprise scale.
• Hands-on with Azure data tools including Databricks, Delta Lake, and Data Factory.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with Spark or similar frameworks.
• Experience integrating data from multiple ERP systems into common models.
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and modernization of scalable enterprise data platforms.
• Define and execute multi-year data engineering strategy.
• Design and optimize Azure-based data solutions.
• Harmonize data across ERP systems into common models.
• Partner with analysts and stakeholders to translate needs.
• Establish standards, review architectures, and mentor engineers.
• Identify AI-enabled approaches to accelerate development.
• Evaluate tools and platform investments for performance and governance.
• Support internal data products and APIs for procurement insights.
• Present recommendations and roadmaps to leadership.
