Job summary

Pace Analytical Services is seeking an experienced instrumentation specialist to maintain, repair and qualify HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS and LC/MS/MS systems. You will calibrate, troubleshoot, and guide improvements while interfacing with customers and internal teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in chemistry or related field and 8 years of hands-on experience. Travel up to 50% may be required depending on location and project needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, or closely related field and eight years of instrument troubleshooting and repair or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of HPLC/UPLC/LC/MS/LC/MS/MS and related calibration procedures.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve instrument issues and provide guidance.
  • Experience coordinating parts, vendor support, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced to expert maintenance, diagnosis and repairs of HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS and LC/MS/MS.
  • Calibrate and qualify HPLC/UPLC/LC/MS systems and document procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to instrument systems and workflows.
  • Source and manage parts and consumables to maintain instrument readiness.
  • Provide advanced instrument support to customers and staff; explain troubleshooting results.
  • Draft SOPs, calibration procedures, and qualification protocols as needed.
