Job summary
Pace Analytical Services in the United States is seeking an experienced instrument specialist to maintain, calibrate and qualify HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS and LC/MS/MS systems. You will provide expert troubleshooting, guidance, and documentation to support client projects and internal teams.
The role requires strong knowledge of analytical instrumentation, cross-functional collaboration, and up to 50% travel to customer sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, or closely related field with eight years instrument troubleshooting/repair experience.
- Advanced to expert knowledge of HPLC/UPLC/LC-MS systems and related calibration.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve instrument issues across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, diagnose, and repair HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS and LC/MS/MS systems to expert levels.
- Perform calibration and qualification of analytical instruments.
- Recommend and implement improvements to instrumentation to optimize performance.
- Source parts and manage consumables inventory.
- Provide advanced instrument support and troubleshooting guidance to customers and staff.
- Draft SOPs, calibration procedures, and qualification protocols.
- Travel 25–50% depending on location.
