Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA, seeks multiple Engineering Group Leaders to drive a multi-disciplinary team supporting laser system operations, design, and R&D in the Laser Systems Engineering and Operations Division. Positions require full-time on-site presence and offer a track to senior leadership within a high-caliber national-security research environment.

You will lead hiring, mentoring, and career development, coordinate across sections, and oversee design reviews

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOE Q-level clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline or related field.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex programs.
• Experience with design reviews and engineering safety standards.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and manage programs and functions with technical focus.
• Provide technical leadership and supervision to the group, including staffing and performance management.
• Coordinate recruiting, hiring, training, and career development activities for staff.
• Collaborate with LLNL leaders to assign work objectives and advise staff.
• Lead design reviews and ensure engineering safety standards are followed.
