Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California seeks a Group Leader to lead a multi-disciplinary team in the Space Science and Security Program. You will coordinate recruitment, development, and program risk management while ensuring adherence to safety and security requirements.

The role requires an active DOE Q-level or Top Secret clearance with SCI access and a strong track record in leading space-based systems engineering efforts.

Qualifications

  • This position requires an active DOE Q-level clearance or Top-Secret clearance with SCI access.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in engineering of space-based systems including design, analysis, and test.
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication to guide a multidisciplinary team.
  • Significant leadership experience in national security missions, especially space systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical, operational leadership and supervision to a multi-disciplinary team responsible for space systems design, analysis, assembly, integration and test.
  • Lead recruiting, hiring, training, career development, performance management, mentoring, and technical guidance.
  • Develop workforce plans with programmatic managers to meet staffing and training needs.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet programmatic targets for the SSSP program and LLNL requirements.
  • Provide strategic insight to enhance LLNL capabilities and coordinate cross-group collaborations.
