Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years [Level 2] / 3 years [Level 1] of work experience in optical and laser systems.
  • Experience designing, building, operating, and repairing solid state lasers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate high power lasers at the BELLA Center, including subsystems like pump lasers and cooling systems.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and resolve issues in a cleanroom environment.
  • Lead/perform maintenance and procurement of replacement parts to maximize laser availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical engineering teams for multi-functional support.
  • Contribute to design and development of new optical systems and establish procedures for operations.
