Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory seeks continuing graduate students or recent graduates to engage in practical research, design, and analysis across electrical, mechanical, optical, and computational engineering within the Laser Systems Engineering & Operations Division.

You will provide technical and/or research support on projects with engineers, scientists, and technical staff, perform data analysis, and prepare posters for the annual Summer Poster Symposium, contributing to national

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to access the Laboratory per NDAA Section 3112.
  • Continuing college student pursuing a graduate degree or a recent graduate within one year.
  • Demonstrated academic achievement in a scientific curriculum.
  • Experience applying engineering or scientific principles to problems.
  • Ability to communicate research and present concepts clearly.
  • Collaborative teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and/or research, design, and analytical support to projects in related engineering fields.
  • Conduct research under limited direction and supervision.
  • Perform basic to advanced technical assignments and support scientists.
  • Gather and analyze data in support of scientific research.
  • Attend seminars and prepare a poster for the Summer Poster Symposium.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
