Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Senior Laser Electro-Optic Technologist to support the Extreme Light, Matter and Fusion Directorate. You will operate and troubleshoot advanced laser and optoelectronic systems, mentor staff, and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and vendors on-site in Livermore, CA.

The role requires an associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience, strong optics and laser diagnostic skills, and the ability to travel for off-site

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Technology, Laser Electro-Optics or related field.
• Advanced skills in alignment, configuration, and troubleshooting of high-energy laser systems.
• Ability to work with complex laser and diagnostic systems and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Independently analyze complex laser system performance and present data with recommendations.
• Align, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize laser systems from CW to high-energy pulsed systems.
• Lead system integration, testing, documentation, and off-site vendor coordination as needed.
