Job summary
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is seeking experienced Senior Laser Electro-Optics Technologists to support the Extreme Light, Matter and Fusion Directorate projects. You will operate, maintain, integrate, troubleshoot, and develop advanced laser and electro-optical systems on-site in Livermore.
Position requires leading and mentoring staff, applying engineering standards, and coordinating with scientists, engineers, and vendors.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Laser Electro-Optics, Physics or equivalent.
- Advanced skills in alignment, configuration, and troubleshooting of high-energy laser systems.
- DOE Q-level security clearance eligibility (U.S. citizenship required).
- Strong engineering principles to solve complex laser-system problems.
Responsibilities
- Independently analyze complex laser/electro-optical system performance and present findings.
- Set priorities for optical, opto-mechanical, diagnostic and support systems.
- Align, operate, maintain and troubleshoot complex laser systems from CW to high-energy pulsed lasers.
- Configure and optimize laser system parameters to meet experimental needs.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise other technical staff as needed.
