Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory seeks Senior Systems Project Engineers to lead engineering projects in laser, optomechanical, and high-power systems for scientific and industrial applications. You will provide technical leadership and design, develop, and deploy advanced systems, collaborating across disciplines to meet deadlines and budgets.

This on-site role requires DOE Q clearance and a track record in systems engineering, project planning, and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Advanced knowledge in an engineering discipline with project planning and leadership experience.
• Experience implementing solutions to complex technical problems using best practices and theories.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and presenting to management.
• Experience coordinating with multiple levels of staff, managers, stakeholders, vendors, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide technical teams to define, develop, and deliver critical systems and components.
• Manage project schedules and budgets, ensuring milestones and deliverables.
• Train, mentor, and coach team members for professional growth and technical excellence.
• Prepare and present technical work to stakeholders and management with clear recommendations.
• Maintain quality standards and leverage team skills to complete complex projects.
