Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking an experienced Senior Field Property Claims Adjuster to investigate and manage highly complex homeowner claims in Oregon. The role involves on-site field work, collaborating with insureds, claimants, and legal parties, and occasional travel to office locations for meetings and trainings.

A fleet vehicle is provided and relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

Advanced Xactimate experience required.
5+ years' experience handling field property personal lines claims.
Prefer someone who has handled claims over $50,000.
Extensive knowledge of policies and endorsements coverages.
Successfully applied knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process.

Responsibilities

Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts and others.
Participates in High Damage Reviews to address coverage issues and exposure.
Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
Conducts on-site inspections when needed, evaluates damages and handles negotiations with insureds and attorneys.
Responds to customer inquiries, makes appropriate decisions and closes files.
Interprets policies and contract coverages and applies to assigned losses.
Mentors less experienced adjusters and shares expertise.
May be assigned other tasks or projects based on skills and experience.
