American Family Insurance is seeking a Lead/Senior Property Claims adjuster for field-based work in Texas. You will investigate complex homeowner property claims, determine liability, secure information, arrange appraisals, and settle claims with a high degree of independence.

The role involves extensive field work and customer interaction, with travel requirements up to 50% and catastrophe travel up to 75% as applicable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field property claims experience.
• Advanced Xactimate experience required.
• Ability to handle 1st and 3rd party homeowner claims across multiple policies.

Responsibilities

• Investigate origin and cause of high exposure claims and coordinate with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys and experts.
• Conduct on-site inspections, evaluate damages and negotiate with insureds and others.
• Interpret policy coverages and apply to losses; close files as appropriate.
• Mentor less experienced adjusters and share expertise.
