Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking an experienced Lead Level Property Claims Adjuster to work mainly in the field across Texas. You will investigate high exposure homeowner claims, determine liability, and coordinate appraisals and settlements with insureds, claimants, and experts.

This role reports to a Large Loss Senior Manager and requires travel. The position offers a salary range of $88,000 to $145,000 with relocation support for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience handling field property personal lines claims.
• Experience handling claims over $50,000.
• Valid driver's license and state licensing as required.
• Extensive knowledge of policies and endorsements.
• Experience across 1st and 3rd party claim handling.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims and evaluates liability.
• Handles 1st and 3rd party claims across multiple policy types.
• Conducts on-site inspections and negotiates settlements with insureds and others.
• Provides timely updates on claim status and next steps.
• Mentors less experienced adjusters and supports team goals.
• Travel up to 50% (75% during catastrophe events).
