Job summary

American Family Insurance seeks a senior field property claims professional for highly complex homeowner claims. You will investigate liability, secure information, review coverages, arrange appraisals and settle claims in the field across Texas markets.

The role requires 5+ years of field personal lines experience and advanced Xactimate skills. Travel up to 50% with catastrophe travel up to 75% is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience handling field property personal lines claims.
• Advanced Xactimate experience required.
• Prefer candidates who have handled claims over $50,000.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Obtain state-specific property casualty licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, and others.
• Participates in High Damage Reviews to address coverage issues and exposure.
• Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections when needed and evaluates damages.
• Responds to customer inquiries and closes files as needed.
• Interprets policies and applies coverages to assigned losses.
• Makes independent decisions and seeks assistance when needed.
• Mentors less experienced adjusters and shares expertise.
• May participate in additional assignments or projects.
