Ideal candidates have 15–20 years in individual life underwriting, deep knowledge of reinsurance, and expertise in financial underwriting.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of experience in individual life underwriting.
• Experience handling large and complex cases for high-net-worth applicants.
• Industry related education (FALU, FLMI, etc.).
• Specialized depth in individual life underwriting, including authority on complex and high-dollar cases.
• Experience with reinsurance frameworks and treaty language interpretation.
• Expertise reviewing complex financial statements and tax returns.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies (EHR, GenAI) and behavioral economics.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate the most complex and high-value cases within defined authority.
• Provide guidance on escalated cases and troubleshoot issues for staff and management.
• Communicate with field partners and home office to gather information and convey decisions.
• Build partnerships with distribution and field leaders to align on decisions.
• Apply reinsurance expertise to appropriate use of automatic and facultative reinsurance.
