Qualifications
- 15–20 years of experience in individual life underwriting.
- Experience handling large, complex cases for high-net-worth applicants.
- Industry education such as FALU or FLMI.
- Expertise with reinsurance treaties, retention, and automatic/facultative rules.
- Familiarity with EHR, GenAI and wearable tech.
Responsibilities
- Adjudicate the most complex and high-value cases.
- Provide expert judgment and guidance on escalated cases.
- Collaborate with field partners and home office for information and decisions.
- Apply deep reinsurance expertise and evaluate treaty requirements.
- Mentor underwriters in advanced financial underwriting.
- Champion adoption of modern underwriting tools and platforms.
- Monitor industry trends to inform prudent business decisions.
