Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a Language Access Translation Specialist to lead district-wide written translations, including IEPs and policies, reporting to the Director of Language Access Services.

You will oversee the translation technology stack (CAT tools, TM systems, glossaries), manage high-volume requests, vendor workflows, budgets, and quality controls to ensure compliant multilingual communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation Studies, Linguistics, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven capability in steering enterprise-level, district-wide, or similarly complex operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end district-wide written translation operations including legally binding documents.
• Oversee translation technology ecosystem (CAT tools, TM databases, glossaries) for consistency and quality.
• Coordinate translation requests, prioritize by content complexity and urgency, and manage internal/external vendor workflows.
