Job summary

Orange County’s OC Waste & Recycling (OCWR) seeks an experienced Project Manager to support the PMO in the Compliance Support and Landfill Technology division. Based at the Prima Deshecha Landfill in San Juan Capistrano, you will manage a broad portfolio of landfill projects from initiation to close, coordinating internal teams, consultants, and contractors.

You will apply PMBOK-based practices to plan, execute, and monitor activities, while ensuring regulatory compliance with CalRecycle,

Qualifications

• Six years of project management experience including landfill/construction, capital improvement, and maintenance projects.
• Experience applying PMBOK-based practices to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close projects.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance with CalRecycle, EPA, and local agencies.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a broad range of landfill projects including horizontal infrastructure, maintenance and repair, operations, and capital projects.
• Oversee contracts and service agreements (landfill gas, liquids management, habitat maintenance, pest abatement, etc.) and facilitate design-bid-build and other contracting vehicles.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across internal and external stakeholders from project concept to completion.
• Ensure progress tracking, payments, and contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
