Job description

This position will manage residential and commercial project design teams and coordinate technical tasks including, but not limited to: conceptual site layout, utility design, roadway design, site grading, storm drain and water/sewer main design, soil erosion control, floodplain studies, permitting, cost estimation, proposals, and invoicing for engineering services.

Accountability and Duties:

1. Coordinate production of final construction drawings and specifications.
2. Prepare and review engineer’s opinions of probable cost.
3. Coordinate permits and approvals with municipal agencies.
4. Prepare and review design calculations.
5. Develop proposals for engineering services and ensure protocol adherence.
6. Manage project schedules, budgets, and billing, including monitoring A/R.
7. Delegate tasks to project team members and collaborate on multi-discipline projects.
8. Maintain client relationships and participate in business development activities.
9. Represent the firm professionally at meetings and hearings.
10. Mentor and assist in staff development and training.

Requirements:

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with at least ten years of design experience in land development projects.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

Certificates and Licenses:

PE license and valid driver’s license required.

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong sense of urgency, self-initiative, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Organizational skills for managing multiple projects.
• Proficiency in designing/moderately difficult engineering projects.
• Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework.
• Availability to work nights and weekends as necessary.
• Proficiency in MS Office and fluency in English.
