Job summary

SAIC is seeking a skilled LAN/WAN Network Engineer to support the DoS DT program in Washington, DC. You will design, test, and implement network components while ensuring security and reliability for government systems.

You will work with DoD standards, support government customers, and provide guidance to IT teams. A TS/SCI clearance is required, with eligibility for current SCI access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience or a master’s degree with 3+ years.
• 8+ years of IT network engineering support, including Tier II/III and maintenance.
• Experience with DoD network standards (STIGs) and government customers in secure environments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, and troubleshoot network components and systems.
• Monitor, tune, and maintain network performance; set standards and ensure compliance.
• Provide client consulting and training on network systems and best practices.
• Plan, research, evaluate, and recommend new network and storage technologies.
• Create contingency plans for network hardware failures and major outages.
• Offer internal consulting and support to developers, IT operations, and management.
