Job summary

Conceras seeks a Systems Network Engineer to support the DoS DT program in Washington, DC. The role requires active Top Secret with SCI eligibility and involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure LAN/WAN networks for government environments.

The engineer will evaluate network components, document configurations, monitor performance, and generate contingency plans. A bachelor’s degree (or master’s) with several years of relevant experience and DoD standards familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline with at least 5 years of experience, or a master’s with at least 3 years.
• Minimum 4 years IT network engineering support experience including Tier II/III.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus/Cisco Catalyst routing and switching; DoD Network Standards (STIGs).
• Experience with government customers in secure environments; NIPRNET/SIPRNET familiarity.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis, risk identification and mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, and troubleshoot network components.
• Monitor, tune, and maintain network performance; set standards and ensure compliance.
• Provide client consulting and training on network systems and architectures.
• Plan, research, evaluate, and recommend new network and storage technologies.
• Use monitoring tools to identify, isolate, and resolve network issues.
• Develop solutions to operational challenges within existing constraints.
• Create contingency plans for network hardware failures and outages.
• Offer internal consulting and support to developers, IT operations, and clients.
