Job summary

NeoGenomics is seeking a Senior Manager, Laboratory Software Engineering to lead a team delivering secure, scalable IT platforms for clinical operations. You will oversee onshore and offshore engineers, guiding architecture decisions and ensuring high-quality software throughout the lifecycle.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration with IT Ops, and delivery excellence in a regulated healthcare environment, with hybrid work options across multiple US locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related fields, or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years in information technology, including 4+ years in a leadership or managerial role
• Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) experience required
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Strong backend, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture
• Java (Spring, Spring Boot) and Python (Flask, Django, FastAPI)
• Databases PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Experience applying AI-assisted coding platforms in regulated environments
• Experience leading software implementations in healthcare/scientific environments
• Proven coaching, hiring, and developing teams
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of developers and engineers across the full software development lifecycle
• Manage onshore and offshore team resources and priorities
• Drive technical excellence, code quality, and process improvements
• Foster high-performance culture and developer growth
• Own delivery outcomes for development workstreams
• Ensure velocity, security, and reliability of software solutions
• Lead incident management and root-cause analysis of production issues
• Coach, hire, and grow development teams
• Collaborate with IT Ops and vendors to align with requirements
• Plan resource needs and manage schedules and risks
• Promote AI-assisted development and testing practices
• Translate requirements into system and technical designs
