Job summary

CHI St. Joseph’s Health Park Rapids is seeking a Manager of Laboratory Services to oversee daily operations and drive strategic development of the clinical laboratory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in biological or chemical sciences required (as defined by CLIA).
• Certification required upon hire: MLS/MT, IMLS, CLS/CLT, Technologist in Molecular Biology, Microbiology or Hematology, Histotechnologist, Specialist in Hematology or Microbiology, SBB or Chemistry – ASCP.
• Master of Science and 2–3 years leadership experience as a manager preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations and strategic development to ensure accurate, timely testing.
• Manage and mentor staff, monitor test quality, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with pathologists and clinical teams to optimize workflows and integrate new technologies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures; drive corrective actions for quality trends.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, procurement, and compliance with standards.
