Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced attorney to manage labor relations matters across the US and Canada. You will advise on NLRB investigations, union campaigns, and compliance, while guiding outside counsel and coordinating with Employee Relations and HR partners.

The role reports to the Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employee Relations, and requires travel as needed to support operations and investigations across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
• 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience.
• Experience with labor/employee relations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work.
• Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities.
• Experience with complex NLRB litigation, response to union organizing campaigns and generally providing traditional labor advice.
• Experience with large hourly populations is preferred.
• Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical advice and counseling on labor relations issues, including concerted employee activity, union organizing campaigns, and compliance.
• Manage NLRB investigations and litigation, as well as government agency investigations and related legal matters.
• Lead proactive training on labor relations topics.
• Assess, select, and supervise outside counsel.
• Partner with employee relations and human resources teams to deliver actionable guidance.
