Amazon seeks an experienced attorney to serve as a trusted legal advisor and employment litigator for its operations teams. You will counsel leaders on the full spectrum of employment law matters while directing high-stakes litigation from inception to resolution.

You'll provide day-to-day employment law guidance on workforce compliance, risk mitigation, and emerging legal issues, and direct employment litigation including class actions, single-plaintiff matters, and regulatory investigations from inception through resolution. Key job responsibilities
  • Serve as embedded legal advisor to Amazon's operations business teams, providing day-to-day employment law counsel on workforce matters and operational compliance
  • Advise on employment-related legal risks arising from logistics operations
  • Partner with business leaders to proactively identify and mitigate employment law exposure
  • Provide risk assessments and strategic recommendations to senior leadership on employment law matters
  • Serve as lead counsel on complex employment litigation matters including class actions, PAGA claims, and high-exposure single-plaintiff cases
  • Develop litigation strategy and manage case portfolios from complaint through resolution
  • Assess, select, and supervise outside counsel on employment litigation matters
  • Support regulatory responses and government investigations related to employment practices
A day in the life

You'll start your morning advising operations leaders on employment legal risk, or reviewing briefing on a high-impact wage-hour case. Afternoons could include counseling business partners on emerging employment questions, partnering with HR on workforce compliance initiatives, conducting case strategy sessions with outside counsel, or revising dispositive motions. You'll serve as a trusted legal advisor to operations teams and own strategic case management — working independently while collaborating across Legal, HR, and business teams to deliver proactive risk management and favorable litigation outcomes.

Basic Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
  • 5+ years of litigation experience
  • Experience in Employment Law
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience handling employment litigation matters
  • Experience as first or second chair in employment litigation matters
  • Experience defending class/complex wage-hour litigation
  • Experience with employment law issues in transportation or logistics industries
