The ideal candidate has 5+ years of California employment law practice, CA Bar in good standing, and Minnesota Bar admission or willingness to obtain it. Strong client service and litigation experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of labor and employment law experience advising employers.
• Active California Bar license in good standing required.
• Minnesota Bar admission/certification or willingness to obtain Minnesota Bar admission.
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and wage/hour compliance.
• Experience litigating employment matters in California courts (state and federal).
• Strong client-service and communication skills; able to work independently and with teams.
• Practical, business-oriented approach to legal counseling.

Responsibilities

• Advise employers on California labor and employment matters.
• Counsel on wage/hour compliance, classifications, pay practices, leaves of absence, accommodations, and policies.
• Represent employers in employment litigation in California state and federal courts.
• Collaborate with clients, HR, in-house counsel, and leadership to mitigate risks.
• Assist clients in resolving disputes and developing practical solutions.
• Provide proactive guidance on evolving employment laws and regulations.
• Draft and review employment policies, agreements, and related documents.
