Job summary

ECS Midwest, LLC is seeking a certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Laboratory Technician I to join our [CITY] team. You will perform testing on construction material samples in soils and concrete labs and work under supervision with experienced professionals to ensure accurate data and compliant QA/QC practices.

Responsibilities include applying ASTM methods, preparing summaries, and supporting audits.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Basic certifications and one additional certification (three total) per policy.
2 years of related experience; driver license if driving for ECS.

Responsibilities

Performs laboratory testing on construction material samples.
Applies standard and advanced testing procedures per established methods (e.g., ASTM).
Interprets test data and prepares summaries or reports under supervision.
Performs calculations and data reduction for test results.
Supports advanced testing activities under guidance of senior staff.
Conducts soils and concrete lab testing with supervision; learns unconfined compressive strength, Atterberg limits, gradation analyses, etc.
Maintains a clean, QA/QC compliant laboratory; calibrates and maintains equipment.
Notifies supervisors of damaged equipment; aids audits and assessments.
Trains and mentors junior staff; assists with other lab functions and occasional fieldwork.
