Job summary

UVA Health in Manassas seeks an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform a full range of laboratory procedures, quality control, specimen collection, processing, testing and reporting of results. The incumbent will oversee lab operations for a department with HR responsibilities and assist in evaluating new techniques as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in medical science, 3 years CLS experience, and MLT/AMT/MLS certification within 18 months of hire, with ASCP/BOC CMP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist required.
• MLT Certification required upon hire; NAACLS/AMT/MLS credentials within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform all laboratory procedures including quality control, specimen collection, processing, testing and reporting of results.
• Assist in evaluating new or modified techniques when required.
• Oversee lab operations for a department with HR responsibilities.
