Job summary

BigHat Biosciences is seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer to build and sustain automated workflows powering our high-throughput antibody platform. You will collaborate with scientific, production, and software teams to ensure robust, scalable automation that accelerates discovery.

You will own projects end-to-end, troubleshoot instruments, and help document SOPs while working onsite in our Lab Science group in San Mateo.

Qualifications

3+ years of lab automation or liquid-handling experience.
Hands-on experience in liquid-handler method development.
Troubleshooting and maintaining liquid handlers and supporting automation users.
Experience partnering with scientific and production teams to scope and onboard automated workflows.
Working knowledge of experimental design, process documentation, and data analysis.
Strong communication skills across diverse teams.
Drive to learn and take on unfamiliar problems; contribute to team with new tools.
Nice to have: experience automating high-throughput protein workflows.

Responsibilities

Own automation projects end-to-end: design, build, validate, deploy and release.
Partner with scientific and production teams to scope projects and onboard workflows.
Maintain and troubleshoot instruments and support lab users.
Document automation procedures and SOPs and share knowledge across the team.
Collaborate with software teams on end-to-end integrated workflows using the company software stack.
