Job summary

Essex Property Trust in Irvine, CA is seeking a Principal Trainer, Learning & Development to deliver engaging, in-person and live virtual training across functions. You will partner with business leaders and L&D colleagues to design and deliver practical learning that builds knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Learning & Development or corporate training experience.
• Proven ability to deliver in-person and live virtual training.
• Advanced facilitation and presentation skills with diverse audiences.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and practical translation of complex material.
• Experience partnering with leaders and subject matter experts.
• Train-the-trainer or facilitation coaching experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Zoom or Teams; LMS/tools a plus.
• Fluent in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging in-person and live virtual learning for associates across functions and levels.
• Adapt delivery pace and activities to the audience and group dynamics.
• Use discussions, scenarios, role plays, and breakout sessions.
• Translate complex information into practical learning with SMEs.
• Collaborate with the Senior L&D Designer to improve delivery.
• Develop presentations and facilitator resources when design support is minimal.
• Coordinate program objectives, audiences, and delivery expectations.
• Handle session logistics, invites, equipment, and supplies.
• Collect learner feedback, support train-the-trainer efforts.
• Travel to Essex locations up to 20% as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
