Job summary

Talen Energy Supply's Learning & Development team partners with Plant Operations to build workforce capability, strengthen safety culture, and support safe, reliable power generation. As a working team lead, you will guide learning professionals while personally assessing, designing, delivering, and evaluating technical, safety, and regulatory training across operating locations.

You will supervise a staff, lead strategic partnerships, and oversee instructional design and program development,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Education, HR, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Eight or more years of progressive learning and development experience with instructional design and supervision.
• Experience conducting needs assessments and developing instructor-led, digital, and blended learning programs.
• Experience consulting with business leaders and using LMS and instructional design technologies.
• Strong project leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, analytical, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Ability to travel periodically to operating facilities and work in plant environments.
• Nuclear plant background and security clearance requirements, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate learning and development staff; set expectations and provide performance feedback.
• Prioritize team workloads, monitor quality and capacity, and provide instructional design guidance.
• Partner with operations and leaders to assess capability gaps and training priorities; align learning plans with readiness and compliance.
• Design, develop, deliver, and improve technical, operational, safety, and regulatory training using varied modalities.
• Create assessments, job aids, and train-the-trainer programs; apply AI-enabled learning where appropriate.
• Lead governance and evaluation of training programs; coordinate with vendors and platforms across locations.
