Job summary

The John Jay College Institute for Justice and Opportunity seeks an experienced Job Developer to build and manage employer partnerships, generate employment opportunities, and secure placements for justice-impacted students in workforce programs.

Approximately 65–70% of time will be employer-facing; the role requires strong relationship-building, advocacy, and data-tracking using Salesforce. Travel within NYC may be required; hybrid onsite and remote work schedule is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered
• 3–5 years in job development, employer engagement, or placement
• Experience with justice-impacted populations and fair-chance hiring knowledge is preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

• Build and manage employer partnerships to generate job opportunities
• Coordinate placements, referrals, and onboarding support
• Develop sector-based employer pipelines with family-sustaining wages
• Track outcomes using Salesforce or similar systems
• Advocate for qualified candidates and support retention and progression
