Job summary

John Jay College of Criminal Justice seeks a Student Career Program Specialist to deliver in-person and virtual career advising, workshops, and programming. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and four years related experience required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of career advising and/or career coaching experience.
• Minimum of two years of industry based recruiting experience in Consulting, Finance, Healthcare, Media and/or Tech.
• Demonstrated knowledge of career development principles.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain employer and community relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and virtual individual and group career advising through appointments, classroom visits, workshops and other group presentations.
• Educate and help students at all stages of the career advancement process, including exploration, assessment, resume and material development, industry and employer research, interviewing, networking, and job search strategies.
• Design, develop, market, and present creative career development programming to students in group settings and support the office’s programming efforts including career fairs.
• Track career and professional development data including appointments, programs, and employer contacts.
• Infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into all aspects of work.
• Work with faculty, staff, and employers to collect, market, and deliver industry specific information and programming across Consulting, Finance, Healthcare, Media and Tech.
