Job summary

John Jay College of Criminal Justice seeks a Student Career Program Manager to lead the Career Learning Lab team and coordinate with faculty, advisors, and employers to connect students with internships, apprenticeships, and entry-level opportunities.

You will build relationships with departments, manage pipelines, and align academic life with employer engagement, ensuring students develop resumes, LinkedIn, interview readiness, and industry projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
• Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of experience in career services, corporate recruiting, human resources, marketing, business, and/or a related field are required. Master's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with students early in their academic careers and maintain engagement throughout their career development journey.
• Conduct targeted student outreach and recruitment campaigns.
• Manage candidate communications and follow-up.
• Connect students to internships, employment, apprenticeship, and experiential learning opportunities.
• Coach students through employer and staffing-agency recruiting processes.
• Facilitate student participation in employer recruitment activities.
• Monitor student engagement, interview progression, and placement outcomes.
• Provide referrals to Career Advisors for individualized career preparation and support.
• Partner with faculty to identify qualified and high-potential student talent.
• Establish referral processes between faculty and the Career Learning Lab.
• Introduce employers into classrooms and academic settings.
• Coordinate employer classroom presentations and career-connected learning opportunities.
• Oversee academic internship and industry immersion courses.
• Support industry projects and applied learning opportunities.
