Job summary

The Squires Group, Inc. seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer / Jira Platform Engineer to own and optimize a cloud-based Jira environment in Washington, DC.

You will lead enterprise-wide Agile delivery initiatives, enable DevSecOps, and drive platform integration projects by migrating legacy tools to Jira and building scalable, secure workflows. The ideal candidate has Jira administration expertise, strong DevOps skills, and hands-on experience with API-driven automation, CI/CD, and Jira integrations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
4+ years of DevOps engineering experience.
3+ years of Jira administration and platform engineering.
2+ years of cloud-native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience integrating Jira with enterprise systems using APIs, automation, and scripting.
Knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD best practices.
Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and DevSecOps practices.
Experience with GitLab, ServiceNow, and Atlassian tools preferred.

Responsibilities

Administer and enhance Jira Cloud to support enterprise Agile and DevSecOps initiatives.
Build and maintain integrations between Jira and key enterprise applications.
Develop automation solutions using APIs, scripting, and workflow tools.
Support Agile teams through platform configuration, reporting, and best practices.
Lead tool migration efforts and drive adoption of Jira-based processes.
Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure scalability, performance, and compliance.
